Siaosi Kalohihea (28) and wife Louena (25) were sentenced to six-months imprisonment for possession of illicit drugs, which was fully suspended, by a Supreme Court judge who urged Tonga Police to catch the main supplier to stop the “scourge of drugs” in the community. “We need to get the person in Tonga who is receiving the drugs from overseas, to stop the spread of drugs,” he said.

Paea Leka was sentenced to two-years six-months imprisonment (fully suspended) for possession of 5.23 grams of methamphetamine and 0.72 grams of cannabis, at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

Sione Tui’one Pulotu (47) will continue serving his prison term for serious indecent assaults committed on a woman in Tongatapu, after his application to appeal against sentence was refused by the Supreme Court in Nuku'alofa.

Kuliti Tongamoa, aka “Creed”, who supplied cocaine to a former international rugby player 'Epeli Taione (41) at 'Umusi in January, was found guilty on two counts of supplying illicit drugs; while Taione was found guilty of possession of illicit drugs, in a verdict delivered in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court on December 11. They will be sentenced on 19 February, 2021.

Shalina Kumar (23) from Fangaloto was sentenced to six-months imprisonment, which was fully suspended for charges, including possession of 0.06 grams of methamphatamine.

Muimui He Lotu ‘Amaka (33) and Sione Moli (34) were sentenced to nine-months imprisonment each for possession of 0.25 grams of methamphetamine and 0.24 grams of cannabis at Nukunuku.
