A slight drop in new petroleum prices for petrol, kerosene, and diesel, has been approved by the Tonga Competent Authority effective from today, 16 April. The retail price of petrol, kerosene and diesel has decreased by 0.09 seniti/litre, 5.68 seniti/litre and 2.98 seniti/litre respectively, with all price changes including consumption tax.

Fourteen-year-old Noelani Day has made history becoming the youngest person to complete the 22.3km Apolima Strait Solo Swim, placing third overall in Samoa, on Friday 6 April. She completed the swim in 8 hours, 11 minutes, and 12 seconds. There were mixed results for Team Tonga at the Commonwealth Games over the weekend and today. Finau ‘Ohuafi won the first heat of the Men’s 50m Freestyle with a time of 26.07, but he didn't make the top 16 athletes in the Men’s 50m Freestyle semi-finals to be held later tonight. Other athletes also competed today in lawn bowls, weightlifting, athletics and boxing.
