A memorial service and celebration of the life of the late Uili Lousi — Tongan visionary artist, international climate advocate, and cultural champion — will be held in Nukuʻalofa on Saturday 30 August 2025, featuring a special exhibition of his artwork at the Australian High Commissioner’s Residence from 2:30pm. The memorial will aid in the early establishment of the Uili Lousi Foundation, a platform designed to advance his work in the arts, environment, food systems, and youth empowerment.

Prominent Tongan artist, Filipe Tohi, presented his discovery of the hidden layers in the construction of the traditional lalava or lashing method used by ancient Tongans, at a seminar last night, 17 January, at the Tanoa Hotel.

Tongan artist, Visesio Siasau, launched his art exhibition today at the Tongan Cultural Centre, with the assistance of New Zealand artist, Serene Tay. The exhibition will run between 29 September to 2 October 2017.
