Nelson from Utah joined over 4,000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in a special cultural celebration at Teufaiva Stadium on November 3 at the beginning of a two-day program to dedicate the newly-renovated multi-million LDS Tonga Temple.

A black marlin weighing 390kg and over 4m long was hauled into the fish markets today from the Ekiaki a vessel which is owned by the Quality Fishing Co. and captained by Loseli Tuineau. The huge fish was caught last Tuesday, 36 miles north east of Kao.

Tonga's Iraqi-bound troops have arrived in Kuwait, where they will spend two weeks acclimatizing to the Middle Eastern weather, prior to their deployment. The Kalonikali reports the troops trained with M16 rifles in Pendleton, California, and took a crash course in basic Arabic as well as Iraqi culture. According to spokesperson Sergeant Siaosi Moleni, they missed the Tongan food, but "found solace in ice cream which was available in copious quantity at all meal times."
