A three-year-old girl died on May 27 when she was accidentally run over by a reversing vehicle at her home in Niutoua. The child from New Zealand had come to Tonga with a grandparent and was waiting for the border to reopen to return home.

HM King Tupou VI switched on Tonga’s first wind farm, named Ii ‘o Manu Mataongo at Niutoua yesterday, 10 July. The 1.375 megawatt wind farm powered by five wind turbines, was built under a $42 million pa’anga Japanese aid project.
