Tunakaimanu Fielakepa, Tongan Laureate, is a recipient of the prestigious international Prince Claus Award 2020 for her lifelong contribution to the ongoing vitality of women's textile arts, an integral part of Tongan culture. The 2020 Laureates were announced this morning [Tonga time] in The Kingdom of the Netherlands by HRH Prince Constantijn.

A variety of artistic and historic Tongan koloa is currently on show at the Para Site art gallery in Hong Kong, curated by Lady Dowager Tunakaimanu Fielakepa.

Spectacular and beautiful Tongan ngatu, kupesi and a variety of treasured koloa may be viewed in a new exhibition at the Langafonua Centre in Nuku'alofa for a month, before the collection moves to a Hong Kong gallery for a display in December.

A large group of women from Australia have arrived in Tonga to celebrate five Fakafetongi Koloa events with women's groups in Vava'u, that will likely result in over $234,000 worth of exchanges.
