A new classroom building costing $200,000 pa'anga for the Government Primary School at Ha’alalo was commissioned by the Minister for Education and Training, Hon. Siaosi Sovaleni and the Japanese Ambassador to Tonga, HE Mr Tetsuya Ishii on Thursday 23 April.

Three new buses were donated by the Government of Japan to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to promote sports and transport athletes to sports competitions and events. Present at the handover today was the Prime Minister Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva, sporting a big lump on his forehead, after he was injured in a fall at the weekend.
