The Tonga Energy Commission (the Commission) has approved an increase to the electricity tariff, effective from 1 May 2026. The Regulated Tariff will increase from 89.58 seniti per kilowatt-hour (seniti/kWh) to 121.63. seniti/kWh, an increase of 35.8%. The increase is the direct result of a significant rise in the global price of diesel fuel.
