​​​​​​​A trip to Tongatapu by a team of South Pacific Animal Welfare veterinarians produced outstanding results with 407 animals receiving care from a volunteer team of four veterinarians and four vet nurses from 19-23 August, SPAW chairman Dr Geoff Neal reported.

Over 100 runners took part in Tonga Animal Welfare Society (TAWS) Tonga marathon, on Saturday, 7 September, at Niutōua, which helped raise money for TAWS to order medicines for treating fleas in dogs and cats.

Many children brought their pets for attention at the busiest-ever South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW) clinics in Tongatapu last week, when 25 volunteers from New Zealand attended to 216 animal surgeries and 400 consultations.
