JOB VACANCIES

Tonga Power Limited is a Public Enterprise responsible for the generation, distribution, and supply of electricity to consumers in Tonga. Applicants are invited to apply for the following positions;


1. Junior Cashier (Tongatapu)

  • Completed at least secondary school education (Form 6 or equivalent) or working towards a certificate in Accounting or related field.
  • Some experience in cash handling or customer service roles advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in training.
  • Flexibility to work as scheduled, including weekends or public holidays as required.

2. Casual Cashier, (Tongatapu)

  • Completed at least secondary school education (Form 6 or equivalent).
  • Certificate in Accounting or relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in cash handling or customer service roles advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work on-call, including at short notice, weekends, or public holidays as required.

3. Line Mechanic (Tongatapu)

  • Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in electrical line work.
  • First Aid Certificate; pole-top rescue proficiency desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license (manual transmission).
  • Physically fit and able to perform the demands of the role (lifting, climbing, working at heights, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and staking sheets.

4. Senior Foreman (Tongatapu)

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in power distribution.
  • First Aid Certificate; proficiency in pole-top rescue desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license (manual transmission).
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
  • Physical fitness sufficient for the job’s demands (lifting, climbing, working at height, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work on-call, including at short notice, weekends, or public holidays as required.
