• Certification Officer
Are you a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) graduate, looking for an exciting job in a growing field? Quality Solutions is looking for a Certification Officer to join the team in helping businesses to meet international standards in food handling, manufacturing and becoming export ready. We are looking for the right person to upskill, meaning all training is provided to get you ready and out into the field. You however need to have the right “attitude” of persistence and resolve to succeed.
Quality Solutions works closely with exporters and relevant stakeholders to access new overseas markets and maintain existing ones. It has a Quality Management System (QMS) in place to ensure consistent service delivery, with continual improvement as a key policy. You will need to learn the ropes quickly, and get onboard to assist our exporters and manufacturers reach higher standards, and increase export revenue.
Main responsibilities:
The Certification Officer is primarily in charge of conducting inspections and assessments, reporting, ensuring operations and procedures comply with certification standards. Although key tasks may vary upon the client’s products and services, it usually covers reviewing certification applications and food management systems / plans, documenting processes , monitoring of controls and tests, organizing orientations/training, providing advice or guidance on effective implementation. Moreover, they also perform administrative support tasks such as facilitating activities, and coordinating with internal and external parties such as the certification bodies (CB)
We are looking for someone who wants to apply their analytical skills and attention to detail, in order to help our exporters and those in the productive sectors, thereby reducing Tonga’s trade deficit.
Location: The position will be based in Nuku’alofa and includes travel around the islands to where exporters are based.
Duration: 12 month contract - Part time with option to move to full-time.
Required Qualifications
- STEM related degree/diploma/qualification and/or 3 years’ professional experience using analytical skills in the STEM field.

- Excellent inter-personal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels;
- Strong analytical abilities;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Tongan
- High ethics and a personal commitment to transparency and accountability;
