TPL generates electricity, EC regulates tariff

Tonga Power Limited TPL and the Electricity Commission EC are separate organisations. They do not share the same management or functions. Tonga Power Limited is responsible for the generation and supply of electricity throughout Tonga. The sole function of the Electricity Commission is to regulate the tariff for the supply of electricity in the Kingdom and ensure compliance within the industry.
