A 43-year-old fisherman from Tokomololo has been reported missing at sea after departing Tongatapu aboard the longliner FV Pacific Horizon.
Tonga Police confirmed the man, a crew member on the vessel, went missing at sea on 4 March 2026.
The vessel departed Tongatapu on Tuesday, 3 March, proceeding approximately 44 nautical miles northeast to its designated fishing grounds.
On Wednesday, 4 March, while operating in the fishing area, crew members discovered that one individual was missing.
An immediate search was conducted, however, the missing person was not located.
Tonga Police have not named the missing fisherman.
The police reminded all maritime operators and crew to prioritise safety at sea.
