Tonga’s newly elected Prime Minister Lord Fakafānua has submitted his list of ministerial nominations to King Tupou VI, the Prime Minister's Office stated on Boxing Day.

The statement said that Members of Parliament and the former Prime Minister were included in consultations over the Cabinet nominations.
Members of the new cabinet are expected to be confirmed before the opening of parliament next year.
Lord Fakafānua was appointed the 20th Prime Minister of Tonga by King Tupou VI on 18 December.
