KlickEx and SPBD extend successful partnership to Tonga, announcing empowering money transfers for Tongans abroad:
KlickEx Pacific and SPBD Microfinance, following their successful 12-month partnership facilitating money transfers to Samoa, today announced an expansion of their services to Tonga.
“This exciting development will allow Tongans living in New Zealand and Australia to send money home easily and securely.”
Beginning today, 2 August 2024, Tongans abroad can utilise KlickEx's user-friendly online platform, klickex.com to initiate money transfers. SPBD Microfinance, with its dedication to economic empowerment for low-income women, will provide cash-out services through its established network in Tonga.
This partnership directly supports SPBD's mission to eradicate poverty and foster sustainable income generation. By enabling streamlined money transfers from major diasporas, the initiative bolsters financial inclusion for both SPBD members and the broader Tongan community.
"We are thrilled to build upon our successful collaboration with SPBD and expand our services to Tonga," said Mr. Ben Kealy, CEO of KlickEx. "This move aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing safe, transparent, cost-effective financial solutions for the Asia Pacific region. We believe this partnership will positively impact the lives of many Tongans."
Mr. Greg Casagrande, President and Founder of SPBD Microfinance Network, said, "Expanding our partnership with KlickEx to Tonga is a significant step forward in our efforts to empower individuals and families across the Pacific. The ability to send and receive money is vital for economic development, and we are proud to play a role in this important initiative."
Partnership Benefits:
- Convenience: Easy-to-use online platform for senders in New Zealand and Australia.
- Accessibility: Cash-out agents throughout Tonga via SPBD's network in Tongatapu, Eua, Vava'u and Haʻapai.
- Impact: Direct support for SPBD's microfinance and economic empowerment programs.

During the launch, Mr. Kealy expressed his gratitude to the National Reserve Bank of Tonga, the Ministry of Finance, SPBD partners, and the diligent KlickEx team in Tonga for supporting this initiative. He emphasised how safe, efficient, and affordable money transfers benefit all stakeholders.
