The Bible talked about
The Bible talked about Abraham as the "Father of Faith". Meaning, without him we wouldn't know what Faith is. No one!
In the same way, King Gorge Tupou 1st (Tubou I) was not only a leader in education but everything about life in Tonga. It is through his vision that Tonga has become what it has become today.
I hope that King Tupou 6th would ask Dr Cummins to write a Book about Tubou I (Tongan & English). This is the kind of legacy that we need to know about it and follow. In my opinion, he is also the Father of Globalisation and Civilisation for Tonga. This generation and the next generation to come need to be well-versed with Tubou I and how he moved Tonga from Olden Tonga (ono-'aho) to Modern Tonga (ono-pooni).
Also, we need to do it while Dr Cummins is alive and well. Another important thing worth mentioning here is that this should be integrated into the school curriculum in Tonga (e.g. ECE & primary education).
I never heard of writing essay competition about Tubou I on the King's birthday. The Heilala Festival Organising Committee should organise an essay competition to write about him too.
