The latest reported missing
The latest reported missing-at-sea case, father and son from 'Eua, really saddens me. Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRB) can be had starting from few hundred pa'anga! Why no public education on this!
Why not Government use some of the millions in aid, meant to improve safety in transport sector, for collective buying of these and other life savers making these even more accessible to the seafaring community?
Saves lives, and sorry to say in same context, also reduce costs related to search and rescue since an EPIRB gives a very good and recent position of distressed seafarers.
