As the general public we
As the general public we should congratulate the Police Commissioner for a display of a non-tolerance towards moral corruption in his Police force. Law and Order in our country is to be uphold by a Police force that prioritizes their trustworthiness in all areas of life.
A Police officer should see themselves as the secular equivalent of a Church minister. As a church minister, my life is shaped ultimately by the Law of God which I proclaimed. Likewise, a Police officer's life ought to be shaped by the Law of the Land under which they are expected to live as well as to enforce it upon the rest of the citizens of Tonga.
The maintenance of the freedom of Tongan citizens heavily relies upon a Police force that abides by the Law they themselves have sworn to be subjected to, as Police officers.
