King Tupou VI dissolves parliament, commands new election

Tonga's King Tupou VI has dissolved the Tonga Legislative Assembly today with an instrument of dissolution Gazetted late this afternoon and posted on the Crown Law website. The king is commanding that a new election be held no later than 16 November 2017.

What's Clauses 38 and 77(2) of The Act of Constitution of Tonga (Cap. 2)?
...I am no fan of Akilisi but
...I am no fan of Akilisi but I strongly believe that he should have served out his term in parliament. What will the King do if the same MPs are returned by the parliament? To people on the outside it will seem like the aristocracy couldn't stand the democratically elected PM and they were dismissed. ...I fear for the stability and the safety of our Island.
I agree with the comment
I agree with the comment above, without much information it does look that way. I think the power to dismiss the PM and dissolve parliament is an important check and balance but I think it's best left to extraordinary circumstances, otherwise if left to itself democracy will eventually work itself out.
It'll take a little time not just for the leaders to adjust to democracy but also for voters too. Voters also need a little time to know how important their votes are and how to make the right choice in the candidate they vote for. But democracy is still the best system so far in choosing government.
