Tonga's mens and womens teams have dominated the start to the FIBA 3x3 Under-23 Youth Nations League Pacific 2026, remaining unbeaten through the opening three stops of the competition in Noumea, New Caledonia.

Tonga’s national teams have emerged as the top performers of the tournament, each compiling a perfect 9-0 record and claiming the titles in Stops 1, 2 and 3.

Tonga Men, led by captain Luke Sinisa, have continued their impressive run as back-to-back champions. The squad features Luke Sinisa, Jimitose Sipeli, Lucas Pulu and Riley Manu, under the guidance of coach Antonio Aziziyan.

The women's team has been showcasing consistency and resilience to sweep all three stop titles and establish itself as one of the competition favourites.

With three stops completed and three remaining in the tournament, Tonga remains firmly on course for a place at the Under-23 World Cup.

Their dominant performances have strengthened Tonga's hopes of securing qualification for the FIBA 3x3 Under-23 World Cup, scheduled to be held in China later this year.

The winners of the men's and women's competitions at the Pacific tournament will earn places at the global event.

The nation's basketball program will now look to maintain its unbeaten streak as the second half of the FIBA 3x3 Nations League campaign unfolds in New Caledonia.
