Over the next two days students and job seekers will have the opportunity to interact directly with employers, TVET providers, businesses, and government exhibitors at the Tonga Career Expo 2026, a two days joint initiative between Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development, and TVET, in association with the Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industries, at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall, in Nuku’alofa.
Career Expo opened today at the Queen Salote Memorial Hall,in Nuku’alofa, under an initiative to encourage students and job seekers to think critically, ask questions, explore different career pathways and learn about the different possibilities available for their future.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Prince Regent HRH Crown Prince Tupouto'a 'Ulukalala, Government officials, students and participants.

The Minister for Education and Training Hon Dr Mo’ale ‘Otunuku, said at the opening, it is their responsibility as Government, educators, training providers, employers and community leaders to ensure that young people are equipped not only with academic knowledge but also practical skills, confidence and access to opportunities.
There was a poetry competition for high schools held two months before this exhibition and the winners were announced and given their prizes during the opening ceremony.
The Prince Regent, government officials, students and participants viewed exhibitions following the official opening.

Education provider exhibits, included TVET schools, Tonga National University’s School of Journalism, TNU School of Nursing and others.
The Tonga Police, Tonga Fire and Emergency Services, Lulutai Airlines and government ministries and organisations were present. A variety of private businesses included the Tanoa Hotel, Restaurant Bula Chef, Fehoko Arts and Tours.
Viewing the exhibition were high school students from Tonga High School, Tupou College Toloa, Tonga College ‘Atele, Ocean of Light, Saint Andrews College, Tailulu College and tertiary schools of 'Ahopanilolo and Montford Technical as well as TVET students.
In his remarks on the opening, the Australian High Commissioner, HE Mr Brek Batley, encouraged students to choose their careers carefully starting now, dream big. He told job seekers that it is never too late to qualify for the right jobs.
