The Australia and New Zealand-funded Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Plus (PHAMA Plus) program, is supporting the initiative in partnership with Nishi Trading Company Ltd.
It will include enhancement of Nishi Trading’s 1,624-cubic-metre cool storage facility through technical assessment, equipment upgrades, and management training.

HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala officially opened the upgraded cool storage facility on 4 December.
Managing Director of Nishi Trading Company Limited, Minoru Nishi said, “This work helps us improve the reliability and quality of our watermelon supply to key markets, while also supporting our team and farmers with better systems and training."
