Petroleum retail prices unchanged for Tongatapu

The retail prices of all petroleum products in Tongatapu remains unchanged for December, and approved by the Tonga Competent Authority (TCA), will be effective on 1 December, the Ministry of Trade and Economics Development (MTED) reported.

A decline in the freight costs and crude oil trend contributed to the price adjustments, resulting in the prices of petroleum products remaining the same for Tongatapu.

The current retail prices for petroleum products in Tongatapu are as follows:

  • Petrol: 3.15 seniti per litre
  • Kerosene: 2.40 seniti per litre
  • Diesel: 3.20 seniti per litre

Taken into account the combined effects of freight prices declinining since September and the exchange rates, there is a decrease in the whoesale prices.

These are the wholesale prices for petrol, diesel, kerosine, and power diesel with consumption tax included, after rounding up:

  • Petrol: down by 3.23 seniti per litre
  • Kerosene: down by 0.72 seniti per litre
  • Diesel: down by 0.40 seniti per litre
  • Power Diesel: down by 0.23 seniti per litre

LPG prices for December

The LPG prices decreased by 0.20 seniti per kilogram quarterly for Tongatapu and Vava’u.

Price adjustments for December 2025 to February 2026 follows the Saudi Contract Butane Price (Saudi CP).

The new LPG prices for Tongatapu, Vavau, Ha’apai, Eua and Niuatoputapu are as follows:

  • Tongatapu: 4.35TOP per kilogram, 56.55TOP for 13 kilograms
  • Vava’u: 4.40TOP per kilogram, 57.20TOP for 13 kiligrams
  • Ha’apai: 5.55TOP per kilogram, 72.15TOP for 13 kilograms
  • ‘Eua: 5.40TOP per kilogram, 70.20TOP for 13 kilograms

Niuatoputapu: 6.70 per kilogram, 87.10TOP for 13 kilograms
