In a review of the national education system, announced on Friday, a key component of a new framework will be the teaching of "workplace behaviour" in the classroom. It comes under the Tonga Education Strategic Policy, that has been approved by the Cabinet, the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Dr Taniela Fusimalohi, said.

The new framework under the policy is aimed at reviewing the national education system.

The Deputy PM said that this new framework seeks to implement significant changes necessary for Tonga's education system to align with international standards.

A key component of this policy will be the inclusion of workplace behavior into education. "We can have good education but bad behavior, a person like that is not needed."

This policy will also extend to TVET schools.

The Deputy PM noted that there is weakness in leadership within public servants and ministries.

He said in Tonga, graduates lack fundamental workplace principles upon completing their education.
