The dengue fever outbreak in Tonga has ended as the number of cases has declined, with no cases of dengue fever recorded over the last two consecutive weeks, the Ministry of Health announced today.
The outbreak began on 19 February 2025, and lasted for over five months, up to the last case reported on 4 August.
A total of 907 dengue cases were recorded by the Ministry of Health during the outbreak with a majority from Tongatapu.

- 'Eua: 70
- Ha'apai: 4
There were no cases reported from the two Niuas.
The 10-20 years age group that were mostly affected.
The three dengue-related deaths reported were a seven-month-old baby, a 19-year-old girl and an eight year old boy.
The Ministry highlighted the importance of the collective effort across all sectors of the society, and the public's collaborative efforts in mitigating and ending the outbreak.
