Announcement from Tonga Water Board (TWB)
Tonga Water Board is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has approved a 9% discount on water usage for all active residential customers (domestic only), effective from 1 July 2025.
This approved discount will benefit the following active customer groups across Tonga:
- 8,753 customers in Tongatapu
- 1,690 customers in Vava’u
- 779 customers in Ha’apai
- 914 customers in ‘Eua
Tonga Water Board (TWB) is currently in a transition phase as we work to implement the automated 9% discount within our billing system. During this period, TWB will proceed with issuing invoices for June – July 2025 without the 9% discount water usage. To ensure fairness and accuracy, the 9% discount will be retrospectively applied from 1 July 2025 to cover the overlapping days in July, and this adjustment will reflect on the July–August 2025 billing cycle, which will be issued in August 2025.
This concession demonstrates TWB‘s continued commitment to supporting urban area communities and making essential water services more affordable for households across the Kingdom.
