Eight students graduated from various Universities in China this past academic year.
The Tongan Embassy in China stated that there were over 50 students in China for the past academic year 2024/2025 supported and funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China to pursue their studies.
“This opportunity not only benefits these students personally in advancing their knowledge, it ultimately helps in uplifting the country’s economy when they return home after completing their studies,” stated the Embassy.
Graduates
- Sokopeti Moala, Master of Law / International Development (Magna Cum Laude)
- Tevita Faiva, Master of Public Health from the Tsinghua University.
- Mele Kupu, Master of Management Science and Engineering from Nanchang University of Aeronautics.
- Sioeli Tuivai, Master of Business Administration from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
- Larry Ma’asi, Master of Business Administration from Changchun University of Science and Technology.
- Saurara Fetokai, Bachelor of Engineering/Traffic Engineering from Wuhan University of Technology.
- Tapenisa Mahe, Bachelor of Engineering in Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering.
- Maake Taofi, Bachelor of Economics/International Economics and Trade from Dongguan University of Technology.
The graduates come from different parts of Tonga including Vava’u and Ha’apai but mostly Tongatapu.
