His Majesty King Tupou VI will officially open the 2025 session of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga on Friday, 23 May. Schools will march for the occasion.
The opening ceremony will mark the formal commencement of parliamentary proceedings for the year.
It will be attended by Members of Parliament, government officials, diplomatic representatives, and invited guests, the Parliament office stated today.
Last year, the King did not attend the opening of Parliament in person and HRH Crown Prince Tupouto'a 'Ulukalala delivered the King's speech.
