The Christmas and New Year Vacation period for the Public Service for 2024/2025 will be observed from 8:30am Monday 23 December 2024 and end at 4:30pm Friday 3 January 2025, the Prime Minister's Office announced today.
The Public Service will resume duty for the New Year 2025 at 8:30am Monday 6 January 2025.
The public service holiday was approved by the Cabinet on 11 October.
“During the Christmas and New Year Vacation period, the public should note that the Government’s essential services will continue to operate, such as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Police and Customs Division, and respective Ministries will announce their operating hours, in due course,” the PMO stated.
The vacation period will be followed by the usual Week of Prayer of the New Year 2025, with the Public Service working hours ending at 4:00pm during the week.
