If we take this like any
If we take this like any other investment decision, they would not have planted so much if they didn't have a place to sell it. The money spent in acquiring the materials, the illegal seeds and cultivating the plants. Not forgetting the high risks involved in growing such a big quantity, it would be silly to believe there was no supply chain arrangement, a distributor or multiple buyers. I'm sure investigators are looking into the money trail, hopefully they'll catch some of the bigger fishes out there.
The bigger the busts the more worrying it is for Tonga, this is not some backyard plant grown for personal consumption, but a sign the drug trade is becoming or is already getting more organised. There is no silver bullet for this problem. Improving economic conditions, better equipping and reforming the police force etc, so there might be several things that can be done to minimize the drug trade, it isn't at all a hopeless situation, we can improve from it. Also a job well done to the police, please keep up the good work.
