Hemaloto Makafilia (23) has been sentenced to six-years imprisonment for attempted rape to be served concurrently with other serious offences when he committed a vicious attack on an overseas volunteer teacher, at a primary school in Nuku’alofa last year.

Parliament come up with
Parliament, come up with something to keep repeat offenders off the streets, like a 3 strike system to deal with repeat offenders. If they are convicted of a serious violent crime and had 2 previous serious violent convictions, then they go away for 50 years or so, otherwise some will just keep on reoffending without shame or care about Tonga's laws.
