Tonga hosts Pacific Breadfruit Meeting

About 70% of Tonga’s annual breadfruit yield just rots on the ground and only 30% is consumed as food and for export, a Pacific Breadfruit Roundtable Meeting held in Tonga, learned this week. But breadfruit exports are increasing rapidly.

Congratulations to all those responsible for this initiative. What an incredible Startling statistic that 70 percent of the breadfruit crop rots & is not utilised. Maybe the Churches can help to organise a "Breadfruit Sunday" to motivate people to "Eat Breadfruit" on Sunday instead of buying bread.
