PM calls for banks to reduce profits

Tonga’s Prime Minister, Hon. ‘Akilisi Pohiva told the Parliament yesterday, 26 August, he wants commercial banks to reduce their interest rates and keep their profit margins to less than $2 million pa’anga per annum. “If not, tell them to go,” he said.

How dare the PM make accusations and warnings of neocolonialism due to foreign investment, it's way to late to worry about that, ..... it disgusts me and many others that Tonga holds it's hands out for donors and funders etc for all expansions and developments....yet he can accuse foreigners of neocolonialism, what an ugly racist position to take, if it wasn't for NZ and Australia Tonga would be in deep trouble. What will he suggest next, burn out a few businesses saved by (foreigners) ....
