Bishop Soane Lilo Foliaki SM (80), who served as the Catholic Bishop of Tonga and Niue from 1994 until 2008, died in Nuku‘alofa on Christmas Eve.

I remember Bishop Foliaki as a warm and kind man, who gave very practical and helpful advice to New Zealand VSA volunteers in Tonga, of which I was one in 1969.
