In my humble opinion removing
In my humble opinion removing the Vote of no confidence gives too much power to a Prime minister, a prime minister must not be given such powers, regardless of whether they have been wonderful or not. There must be checks and balances of power to prevent an abuse of it, imagine if the Prime minister began implementing policies that were in the interest of a select few, who would then be able to put down the PM? I think without a vote of no confidence motion, it would make it much more easier to abuse power.
To put forward a motion for no confidence is not an abuse of power, but using one of the tools available if there is a large portion of those in parliament who are not satisfied with the way Government is being run. To discourage this from being repeated, there needs to be majority of those in parliament that don't necessarily have to support Government but have confidence that those in Government are doing their job up to certain standard, within the laws of our society and have the interests of all Tongans behind each decision making.
