I was one of three people
I was one of three people interviewed for the position of Anti Corruption Commissioner in October of 2008. No appointment was made. Whilst I was Attorney General I urged the Government to make an appointment to the position. I offered to recommence the selection process. I was told that the government at that time led by Lord Sevele did not wish to appoint an anti corruption commissioner. I hope this new move is a change for a better Democratic Tonga and I wish you well. It is a little incorrect to think nothing happened from the time of Mr Adsett being appointed the acting Anti Corruption Commissioner until now. His appointment as Acting Anti corruption Commissioner was not supported by the government as they thought it was the action of the then Attorney and Minister of Justice 'Alisi Taumoepeau.
