PRs you can't fool me - Sione
PRs you can't fool me - Sione Lousiale Kava: The Temos continue to feed on the Anti-Royalty sentiment of the Island just to be elected. But anyone in their right mind knew that the Political Reform pushed by the Temos is not only ridiculous but will do more harm than good to the people of Tonga. Clive Edward for so many years wasted thousands of your tax dollars in a personnel war with ‘Akilisi. Now he turns and is ‘Akilisi’s bosom buddy. I am not surprised because that’s lawyer for you. Your feelings and lost is irrelevent, because they are paid by the hour. Lawyer is not out there to solve anything, but to encourage the process to continue, so that they can charge more hours. ‘Akilisi has gone far beyond and above his head that I am not surprised about his “often-change-of-mind”. His political canoe is daring into an ocean way above his capabilities and understanding, he has to pretend a lot. Fortunately, that great pretender was reelected. For ‘Isi Pulu, I feel sorry for you and I am toning down my feeling because my brother is a die-hard supporter of Tonga College. But I just can’t believe how you have turn from bright ‘Atele kaute kulokula color to a very dark bloody red. You have been blinded by the vain pride of the position and re-election. But you know and I know that you know very little about how to run a country.
You may all say “but we were elected by the people”. I agree but please remember that Hitler of Germany, Idi Amin of Uganda and Khomeini of Iran were all elected by the people. Abraham Lincoln reminds us in the United States that politicians have been able to fool some of the people some of the time, most of the people some of the time, but no one has been able to fool all the people all the time. You have fooled your way into re-election. It appears you may also fool your way out of accepting responsibilities for the death and damages of 16/11. In our earthly court system, right or wrong is not the issue. You have the Almighty God’s court to face sooner or later. - Sione Lousiale Kava
Blind are leading the blind -
Blind are leading the blind - Tevita Langi: It is very frustrating and discouraging to the idiots of the villages to see how ugly things have turned in Parliament, and how the arrogance of the PRs is turning our stomachs. Their insistence on receiving giveaway money on their tour of the villages they represented is a perfect example. The people are suffering due to high cost of food and petroleum; the kingdom is financially struggling to pay its bills, and the PRs want to throw away money? Have they lost their minds? Meanwhile, they are paid overtime after working less than half a day for three days of the week? Oh, and they are paid for one day after working for an hour? Is that why they insist on working fewer hours so they can claim the rest as overtime? Does anyone care they are stealing from the taxpayers and claim the Government is at fault? Are we so blind or just co-conspirators with these PRs?
I have something in common with the PRs. I do not hate them, just disgusted at what they are doing to the kingdom. We both want political reform. Our differences are in how to accomplish the reform. Lately, it seems the PRs are not so sure about what they want. Forget about what the people want, they do but they don't, for they are reaping the benefits while accomplishing nothing in their comical parliamentary sessions. Their indecisiveness regarding our political future is appalling. Does anyone care, anymore? Oh! Did I get it right, Clive Edwards mentioned how business is conducted in the US Government? It seems, he conveniently failed to say that the Congress of the United States works longer hours, sometimes 10 to 14 hours a day, and they do not receive overtime pay. Also, they receive a salary that is lower than what most doctors, dentists, and lawyers make. Isn't that ironic? The Tongan Parliament receives outrageous salaries, works fewer hours, and gets overtime pay if they work more than 16 hours a week. Who is fooling who? How can we stand by and allow this group to wreak havoc to our political process and claim they are the minority in Parliament? It is time to take control of the process and do it ourselves. Stand up and make your voice heard. The king is untouchable because the Constitution allowed him to do so. If we change the constitution and make him accountable, then the clowns in the circus will have an argument. We are 17 months away from the political reform of 2010, and the Political Reform Commission had not been selected? Tonga is a small country with very few people. The government is poorly managed but it could get worse if it goes the way of the PRs. As long as we have greedy clowns in Parliament, whose audience (us) seems to be burying its head in the sand, life will remain the same for all of us. My favorite philosopher, John Wayne, once said, “Life is hard. But it is harder if you are stupid!” - Tama Foa, Tevita Langi
