Government, don't let me down

Pago Pago, American Samoa

Editor,

I have been on the Government side on most controversial issues. But it appears to me that when I feel I am ahead in defending the governments' actions, some of the powers at hand will do something that make a fool out of me. I can't believe I will have to agree with Tama Foa and Fatani. Just as I thought we were looking good and should be in Hollywood, some of our decision makers opted to dive into the sewer system with such ridiculous conclusions to withhold information from the public.

I hope the Government do realize that your actions only benefits and further fertilize the anti-government sentiment in Tonga. No news is good news to some people. To a lot people, the worse that could happens is anticipated when there is no news. To most reasonable human beings, when information is deliberately withheld, something negative and serious is wrong.

There is a call for the leaders of Tonga to wake up; Think globally, no man is an island. Think ahead in terms of 5 to 10 years and beyond; Think Public; How is a decision going to affect the general public?

It is getting harder to defend you my friends.
