On the sad occasion of His Majesty's passing away I feel I really must express my and my wife's sincere condolences to Her Majesty Queen Halaevalu Mata'Aho, the Royal Family, and all of the Tongan people.
We have fond memories of King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV., of His kindness, of His pro-German attention and - especially for our great delight - of His appreciation of music.
Our good wishes also goes to the Crown Prince who will be the successor of the kind-hearted monarch.
Crossing over the oceans to the Islands of Tonga, I send my warm greetings from Germany - also on behalf of my wife Ingrid.
