A forensic pathologist from New Zealand who conducted a post-mortem examination on Kali Fungavaka's body, believed that the cause of death was a huge blunt force trauma to the head. He today revealed the extent of the multiple injuries found on the victim's body ranging from a fractured skull, haemorrhage and bruising to his brain, a fractured neck bone with bruises to other parts of his body.

Tonga's Deputy Commissioner of Police Taniela Faletau (56) has taken up voluntary retirement effective March 1, after over 30-years of service. Trained in New Zealand the top cop was farewelled with a parade at the Police Headquarters in Longolongo, on Wednesday February 20.

Tongan seasonal workers under the New Zealand Recognised Seasonal Employers program are affected by the NZ immigration minister's recent decision to hold Tongan visa applications that require police clearances. A first group of 35 workers who were due to leave for New Zealand on Monday remain on stand-by in Nuku'alofa. Another 120 workers who are scheduled to leave over the next two weeks in the height of the harvest season will also be affected by the new rule.
