Chinese professionals and skilled people who are working on Chinese development programs in Tonga on certain passports, may enter the country without a visa starting next month, the Acting Prime Minister, Hon. Samiu Vaipulu told the Tongan Parliament on August 28.

Tonga's Retirement Benefits Fund Board faces uncertainties after half of its elected directors have left the board. One resigned after a criminal conviction and now two other directors have been told to leave after their employer, Tonga Power Ltd., opted out of the fund for a year.
