Tonga has abundant food but it does not balance with our efforts to be active, and much fertile land was neglected, HM King Tupou VI said in opening Tongatapu’s two-day Royal Agricultural Show 2012 at the Manamo’ui grounds in ‘Atele, this afternoon Friday October 19. He urged Tongans to increase the acreage of land farmed from around 12 percent to make 50 percent of the land productive.

A talent show with contemporary island creations and colourful sarong swimwear, modeled by the five Miss Heilala contestants, was held on Thursday evening, their last appearance before tonight’s Miss Heilala 2011-12 crowning.
The five Miss Heilala contestants put on their best Tau’olunga dance performance last night, July 26, at the Heilala tent in central Nuku’alofa.
Over $1 million pa’anga was collected by ex-students of Tupou College at their 145th Anniversary Celebration at Toloa on Saturday, June 25.
