A tornado struck the centre of the village of Ha'alalo in central Tongatapu on Saturday, August 21, blowing off the roof of the village hall, destroying a home with a family inside, hitting a primary school, knocking out the local kava club house, and damaging trees.

The swinging sixties came to life with the visiting Tuggerah Lakes Show Band from Australia, at the ‘Apifo’ou College Hall in, Nuku‘alofa, on June 14.
