A second drowning death of a fisherman off Tongatapu was reported by the Tonga Police this afternoon. The body of a 22 year old fisherman from Patangata was found on the reef today by other fishermen returning from Pangaimotu Island.

The sight of the Hine Moana kalia in full sail, entering the Nuku'alofa harbour on Wednesday, 24 October, was a reminder of Tonga's seafaring past. The Hine Moana, with its Tongan woman skipper, 'Aunofo Havea Satuala, and a 13-members crew, stopped-over in Nuku'alofa for five days on their way to New Zealand.

Tonga has abundant food but it does not balance with our efforts to be active, and much fertile land was neglected, HM King Tupou VI said in opening Tongatapu's two-day Royal Agricultural Show 2012 at the Manamo'ui grounds in 'Atele, this afternoon Friday October 19. He urged Tongans to increase the acreage of land farmed from around 12 percent to make 50 percent of the land productive.
