The price of petrol, kerosene and diesel has decreased starting from today, 16 October, as approved by the Tonga Competent Authority for October – November.

Children from several kindergartens on Tongatapu celebrated Global Handwashing Day today, 15 October, under a theme “Hand Hygiene for All”. All 141 passengers from Christchurch tested negative for CoViD-19 on the first round of testing in Tonga confirmed Ministry of Health CEO, Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola last night.

A 40-foot container full of brand new wheelchairs and walking aids was officially handed over to the Ministry of Health by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Vaiola Hospital today. The equipment will help needy people throughout Tonga and is the fourth container-load of equipment donated by the church.

Tevita Valikoula (57) was sentenced today to five-years three-months imprisonment for receiving stolen Tongan properties valued at $19,400 pa’anga and encouraging another to steal $17,000 worth of kava plants.
