The Fua'amotu Tropical Cyclone Centre has deactivated its Watch for Tropical Cyclone Keni as the storm has moved out of Tonga's boundary this afternoon. NEMO reported damage at 'Eua and power outages on both 'Eua and areas of Tongatapu today.

Tropical Cyclone Keni, on its current track, is expected to be a Category 1 system, when located about 300km southwest of Nuku’alofa tomorrow morning, Wednesday April 11. Air New Zealand has cancelled tonight's flights between Auckland and Tonga and return.

A Tropical Cyclone Alert was issued for Tonga today by the Fua'amotu Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre in response to Tropical Cyclone Keni, Category 1, that could affect Tongatapu and 'Eua land areas and coastal waters in the next 48-hours.
