Nuku'alofa, Tonga
Tonga steps up its war against drugs with a new Tonga Police College Training Block commissioned by King Tupou VI at an official ceremony yesterday, 23 March at Longolongo. Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell said illicit drugs are a key security challenge for the country, along with COVID-19 and climate change, and there was a commitment for an additional 100 police officers. At the ceremony the King invested the Commissioner and his wife with Royal Orders of the Crown.

Nuku'alofa, Tonga
Tevita Talia’uli Fatongiatau (33) was sentenced at the Supreme Court last week to two-years six-months imprisonment for possession of illicit drugs. He was a guest at a motel in Nuku'alofa, when he flushed some of the drugs in the toilet when Police apprehended him.
