The organization provides them with the access to financial and business development services, as well as the opportunity to build assets, improve financial security and to finance housing improvements and education. Its newest loans program is the “White Goods Financing” program.

Over US$100M in micro loans has been handed out to tens of thousands of low-Income women across the Pacific Islands, including Tonga, by the South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) since its launch in 2000. Last Friday, 8 December, it gave out its US$100 millionth loan to entrepreneur Vilisi Tabua, a fish dealer at the Suva Public Market in Fiji.
