Tonga's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, Sione Vuna Fa‘otusia is to be arraigned at the Supreme Court on charges, including interference with the course of justice, in a dispute over a stolen cow in January 2019. Since the respondent is Minister of Justice, counsel agreed that an overseas judge should be appointed to hear the trial.

The cases against two Tongan Cabinet Ministers, one over a stolen cow and the other disobeying a Port Master’s direction in regards to his vessels, remain pending at the Fasi Magistrate's Court. One is adjourned to Chambers on May 29 and the other has a trial date set for July 3.
