Six Georgian nationals who pleaded guilty to knowingly dealing with forged documents, after entering Tonga on stolen Greek passports, were each given two-years suspended prison sentences, and ordered to pay $1,000 pa'anga each to the Supreme Court today. They are ordered to leave Tonga within two weeks, ordered a Supreme Court judge in Nuku'alofa.

The fate of three young men tried for serious housebreaking and theft is expected to be delivered this week in a Supreme Court verdict. The three contractual workers were jointly charged of serious housebreaking and theft of more than $20,000 pa'anga cash from Pactrade Tonga in March this year.

Four Tongan nationals, including two former civil servants, will be sentenced on 11 November after changing their plea to guilty to charges in a Tongan passport forgery trial that began at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court on 13 September. The case involves a passport application using a forged Tongan birth certificate of a person who does not exist.
